Molecular Biology Technician

Join our Research and Development team and be a part of the development of new materials that provide sustainable solutions to diverse markets. The Molecular Biology Technician will work in a supportive role with the Molecular Biology team with responsibilities including execution of grant funded work plans, creation of market prototypes, and various other tasks. This role will perform molecular biology techniques, strain preservation and maintenance, species cultivation, substrate preparation and mixing, maintain lab inventory, assist in scale up, prepare materials for experimentation, and perform data collection.

Minimum Qualifications and Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree in biology or life sciences

• familiarity with common molecular biology techniques

• exceptional organization skills

• conscientious in the work place

• attention to detail

• strong observational skills

• ability to hand mix materials

• independently driven

• team player

 

Preferred Qualifications and Competencies

• Advanced degree in molecular biology, genetics, mycology, or cell biology.

• Proficient in molecular biology techniques

• interest and knowledge of fungal or bacterial genetics and metabolism

• eager to learn and assist in the development of novel techniques

• willingness and interest in learning from observation

• capability and desire to independently design experiments

• ability to creatively problem solve
