Packaging Sales Representative

We are seeking an experienced sales person to enchant prospects with the vision of home-compostable, high performance EcoCradle® protective packaging. You will join our team of learning, driven innovators, paving the way in sustainable biomaterial technology. Upon joining Ecovative, you will be trained on all the unique selling points behind EcoCradle.

To be successful in this role, candidates must have experience selling molded foam packaging and come to Ecovative with an established network. Ecovative is expanding quickly, including building a larger manufacturing facility and we need help selling product now! This sales position will require travel to prospects and customers, as well as exhibiting at trade events.

We are seeking a relationship builder with the ability to identify and prioritize leads, understand the needs of the customer and/or prospect, and translate them into a useful packing solution – whether standardized or customized.

You must be excited to work in a start-up mission driven culture, with a true passion for sustainability. We need an individual who is high energy, polished, and engaging with a sincere style.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop an in depth understanding of the product lines, including the technologies and processes behind the product
  • Assist in setting up sales plans and processes
  • Conduct the full sales cycle through to closing new business
  • Follow up and follow through on a deep pipeline of leads, with excellent response times and a high level of attention to the needs of prospects
  • Develop ongoing prospects and consistently generate new leads
  • You should be able to “sell” an evolving story of the company.
  • Serve as account manager for existing clients
  • Partner with R & D to introduce and determine viability of customer product requests and specifications

 Qualifications

  • Proven success selling molded protective packaging, ideally foam.
  • Ability to share an established network of decision makers
  • A 4-year degree in packaging science, mechanical engineering and/or business highly preferred
  • Solid Works CAD experience is preferred

Mechatronic / Design Engineer

Ecovative Design, based in Green Island, NY, is seeking an experienced engineer to aid in the development of world changing technology. Applicants must be able to develop conceptual and detailed designs, fabricate, and create improvements for a range of unique processes and machines. You will be joining our growing team of learning, driven innovators, paving the way in sustainable bio-material technology.  The Mechatronic Engineer is an interdisciplinary role that will work with many departments. Specifically, applicants must be able to provide technical input on materials conveyance, pneumatics, power transmission, basic electrical wiring, design and function of biological micro-environments, and experimental design. A successful candidate must take pride in working efficiently and producing quality work. Applicants must have an intuitive understanding of how to communicate with machines, including how they communicate with each other. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements who also perform activities directly related to saving our environment, invention, fabrication, programming, wiring, or design will get first consideration for this position. Applicants must be able to build and build quickly with a match to the ability to design and design quickly.

Candidate Requirements

Metalworking / fabrication experience (lathes, mills, welding); demonstrated ability to adapt quickly and learn new job functions; basic understanding of most fabrication techniques; Solidworks familiarity; Microsoft Office or OpenOffice experience; self-motivated, fast learner, respectful, accountable, considerate, patient, multi-tasker, deadline driven, flexible, open to others ideas and new technologies, team-player, modest, able to focus, and have a professional attitude. Candidates must demonstrate ability to conceptualize, visualize, articulate, and implement process logic, as well as the ability and motivation to provide work flow and environment improvements quickly and efficiently.

Preferred Requirements

Bachelors degree; hands-on electrical work; CAD (Solidworks) experience; Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience; code development (Ladder Logic); automation and machine design experience.

Production Technician

Ecovative Design, an innovator in sustainable biomaterial technology, is seeking Production Technicians to join our committed, creative and high-performing team. Production Technicians at Ecovative are involved in all stages of production. Successful candidates must be passionate about a sustainable environment, be diligent with a good eye for detail, and possess strong documentation organization. You will be part of team and hence expected to be a team worker, take pride in the work that needs to be done, and remain focused on the task at hand. Candidate Requirements

Candidates should have experience in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on quality controls, safety, and cleanliness; ability to perform physical labor (packaging, lifting, etc.); experience working on teams as well as independently; willingness to change/adapt to new processes, procedures, or work requirements.

Preferred Requirements:

Experience in food service, kitchen, greenhouse, manufacturing environment, or production line; Bachelor’s degree; machinery work (forklift, manufacturing equipment, etc.); a background in biology / environmental / sustainability field; math skills; aseptic experience.
