Myceliation Lead Operator

Ecovative has a great opportunity for an experienced Production Operator who is excited about an opportunity in a quickly evolving Research and Development environment. Join a talented, hardworking team who is focused on continuous improvement.  We are looking for someone who is quality focused and hands on. This role will work closely with their team, as well as our Part Production team, to make cutting edge mushroom materials.  

 

Minimum Qualifications and Competencies

  • Prior leadership experience and demonstrated ability to lead a group with confidence and efficiency
  • 3+ years Operator/Technician experience in a fast-paced manufacturing with an emphasis on quality controls, safety, and cleanliness
  • Basic equipment troubleshooting, ability to use hand tools
  • Technological aptitude, Computer competency and proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to perform physical labor (packaging, lifting, etc.)
  • Willingness to change/adapt to new processes, procedures, or work requirements
  • Multi-tasker with the capability to stay focused on task at hand
  • Be comfortable and confident in quick minute-to-minute decision making
  • Proficient in record-keeping; strong documentation skills; highly organized

Quality Testing Technician

Ecovative is seeking to hire a Quality Testing Technician to evaluate materials for key metrics and ensure our materials meet customer expectations.  The Technician will measure parts, make observations and operate an Instron machine system to test parts for various characteristics. This role will also enhance the Quality department by exploring new testing methods and procedures.

HR Manager

Essential to the business is for HR to implement effective recruitment and selection practices, coach and advise on employee relations concerns, and create a high efficiency human resource function.   This role will ensure employment law compliance, administer and negotiate employee benefits, process payroll, review compensation, and facilitate and/or perform supervisory training.

 This position is a combination of a partnership with leadership to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate HR initiatives, as well as the independent execution of daily responsibilities. The HR Manager takes a proactive role in shaping the company culture; the ability to coach and collaborate with others across all levels of an organization is critical.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field (Associate’s degree with a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience can replace the Bachelor’s requirement)
  • Minimum of five (5) years performing generalist human resource functions, including compliance, recruitment, payroll, employee relations, and employee benefits.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or OpenOffice
  • HRIS knowledge and experience (ADP Workforce Now preferred)
  • Must be energetic, self-motivated, fast learner, accountable, considerate, patient, flexible, open to others ideas and new technologies, team-player, and have a professional attitude
  • Maintain competencies in governmental legal compliance requirements
  • Communicate effectively across an organization.

Engineering Technician

The Engineering Technician will support our Production team to ensure efficient manufacturing operations.  The Technician will anticipate mechanical issues, troubleshoot problems as they arise and work to have as little downtime as possible on our manufacturing line.  The ideal candidate will have deep understanding of mechanical systems.

Minimum Requirements

  • 2 Year Technical degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong machine and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
  • Strong industrial electrical and wiring skills
  • Knowledge of common industrial control components and safety practices
  • Ability to read, understand, and create technical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Comfortability with basic machining principles
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing systems
  • Working knowledge of basic hand tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (or Google Drive Suite)
  • Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team based environment
  • Able to work late hours and weekends as needed
  • Able to frequently perform work where they will be standing, bending, crouching, kneeling, crawling, reaching, working in tight or awkward locations.
  • Comfortable working on ladders or elevated work platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to Mig/Tig Weld
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting hydraulic/pneumatic systems

Chemistry Lab Technician

Ecovative Design is seeking to hire a Chemistry Lab Technician to assist Research Scientists with experiments. The Chemistry Lab Technician is responsible for monitoring progress of sample testing, reporting testing results to stakeholders, preparing glassware and chemical solutions, making observations, note-taking, data collections, maintaining organized sample logs for analysis, equipment documentation, ordering lab supplies, monitoring inventory of consumables, participating in lab cleaning, facilitating meetings and presenting information to managers, and identifying and addressing testing success risks. This role must adhere to chemical and hazardous waste handling protocols and regulations, PPE requirements, testing standards, timelines, and proven methodologies. The Chemistry Lab Technician will use various types of lab equipment and must have experience with varying types and be able to adapt to new equipment.

 

Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Degree in chemistry and/or 1+ years’ experience with chemistry techniques
  • Excellent at collecting and organizing data sets efficiently and effectively with meticulous attention to detail and exceptional recordkeeping and note taking abilities.
  • Successful candidates are able to communicate concerns proactively as issues arise related to samples, methodology, or data.  
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team member, manage task lists and timelines effectively, troubleshoot and resolve simple issues, and effectively communicate results.
  • Must be a quick learner and must be flexible to changing needs
  • Must have proficiencies with basic math, MS Excel, Google Docs, and relevant computer applications

Maintenance Technician

Ecovative Design is seeking to hire a Maintenance Technician to ensure manufacturing equipment has as little downtime as possible through maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.  This role will maintain shop space through inventory review and ordering, maintenance on machine shop tools, organizing the space, and ensuring a clean working environment. The Maintenance Technician will also implement and develop a preventative and scheduled maintenance system including maintenance checklists, performing and documenting maintenance tasks, spare parts inventory maintenance, and maintenance procedures. The position may also work with engineers to implement larger scale equipment and processes by assisting with general plumbing and electrical work and minor fabrication tasks. The Maintenance Technician will work collaboratively with other departments and mangers to enhance the maintenance service at Ecovative.

 

Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:

  • High School Diploma with a minimum of three (3) years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to demonstrate experience with maintenance and repair of electric motors, gearboxes, and power transmission couplings
  • General fabrication experience required
  • Must have ability to understand technical drawings, P&ID, and electrical schematics
  • Must have basic electrical wiring and troubleshooting skills and be comfortable with industrial electronics and controls
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety practices and process/machine guarding
  • PLC and VFD experience
  • Familiarity with mig welding
  • Basic computer skills required

 

Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Fork truck driving experience
  • Tig welding
  • Comfortability with CAD and/or Solidworks

Production Operator (continuous recruitment)

Ecovative Design is seeking Production Operators to join our amazing team! The Production Operator will primarily be involved in the processing of Ecovative's Mushroom Material, through the various manufacturing stages including production through shipping. The Production Operator will operate various types of machinery, produce and assemble products, and perform tasks as deemed necessary by the supervisor, ensuring safe and efficient operation. The Production Operator is also required to maintain an orderly workspace, track production data and maintain documentation, in addition to cleaning the work area, tools, and equipment. The Operator must be diligent with a good eye for detail; both safety and team-oriented, as well as prompt and reliable.

Minimum Requirements

Experience in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on quality controls, safety, and cleanliness is a must. The ability to perform physical labor (packaging, lifting, etc.) is necessary. Computer competency and documentation skills are also needed. The willingness to change/adapt to new processes, procedures, or work requirements will help in day to day operations. Diligence with a good eye for detail through task completion is a must. Consistent work ethic and being proactive, taking the necessary initiative to get the job done, will lead to a successful applicant.

Preferred Requirements

The understanding of aseptic technique and basic biology along with a passion for a sustainable work and life environment is desirable. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and efficiency principles is also an asset. Forklift experience and/or a CDL license are also preferred.
