Production Operator

Ecovative Design is seeking Production Operators to join our amazing team! The Production Operator will primarily be involved in the processing of Ecovative's Mushroom Material, through the various manufacturing stages including production through shipping. The Production Operator will operate various types of machinery, produce and assemble products, and perform tasks as deemed necessary by the supervisor, ensuring safe and efficient operation. The Production Operator is also required to maintain an orderly workspace, track production data and maintain documentation, in addition to cleaning the work area, tools, and equipment. The Operator must be diligent with a good eye for detail; both safety and team-oriented, as well as prompt and reliable.

Minimum Requirements

Experience in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on quality controls, safety, and cleanliness is a must. The ability to perform physical labor (packaging, lifting, etc.) is necessary. Computer competency and documentation skills are also needed. The willingness to change/adapt to new processes, procedures, or work requirements will help in day to day operations. Diligence with a good eye for detail through task completion is a must. Consistent work ethic and being proactive, taking the necessary initiative to get the job done, will lead to a successful applicant.

Preferred Requirements

The understanding of aseptic technique and basic biology along with a passion for a sustainable work and life environment is desirable. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and efficiency principles is also an asset. Forklift experience and/or a CDL license are also preferred.

Myceliation Lead Operator

Ecovative has a great opportunity for an experienced Production Operator who is excited about an opportunity in a quickly evolving Research and Development environment. Join a talented, hardworking team who is focused on continuous improvement.  We are looking for someone who is quality focused and hands on. This role will work closely with their team, as well as our Part Production team, to make cutting edge mushroom materials.  

 

Minimum Qualifications and Competencies

  • Prior leadership experience and demonstrated ability to lead a group with confidence and efficiency
  • 3+ years Operator/Technician experience in a fast-paced manufacturing with an emphasis on quality controls, safety, and cleanliness
  • Basic equipment troubleshooting, ability to use hand tools
  • Technological aptitude, Computer competency and proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to perform physical labor (packaging, lifting, etc.)
  • Willingness to change/adapt to new processes, procedures, or work requirements
  • Multi-tasker with the capability to stay focused on task at hand
  • Be comfortable and confident in quick minute-to-minute decision making
  • Proficient in record-keeping; strong documentation skills; highly organized

 

Preferred Qualifications and Competencies

  • Prior PLC/touch screen operation experience
  • Understanding of aseptic technique and basic biology

Quality Testing Technician

Ecovative is seeking to hire a Quality Testing Technician to evaluate materials for key metrics and ensure our materials meet customer expectations.  The Technician will measure parts, make observations and operate an Instron machine system to test parts for various characteristics. This role will also enhance the Quality department by exploring new testing methods and procedures.

  • degree in material science and/or 3+ years experience with mechanical testing

HR Manager

At Ecovative, the Human Resource Manager collaborates with organizational leaders to attract amazing talent and develop that talent to continue to support the organization’s mission to envision, develop, produce, and market Earth friendly materials that have a positive impact on our planet’s ecosystem.   This position will lead the HR practices and programs that provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes initiative, empowerment, quality, productivity and goal attainment. Essential to the business is for HR to implement effective recruitment and selection practices, coach and advise on employee relations concerns, and create a high efficiency human resource function.   This role will ensure employment law compliance, administer and negotiate employee benefits, process payroll, review compensation, and facilitate and/or perform supervisory training.

 This position is a combination of a partnership with leadership to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate HR initiatives, as well as the independent execution of daily responsibilities. The HR Manager takes a proactive role in shaping the company culture; the ability to coach and collaborate with others across all levels of an organization is critical.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field (Associate’s degree with a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience can replace the Bachelor’s requirement)
  • Minimum of five (5) years performing generalist human resource functions, including compliance, recruitment, payroll, employee relations, and employee benefits.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or OpenOffice
  • HRIS knowledge and experience (ADP Workforce Now preferred)
  • Must be energetic, self-motivated, fast learner, accountable, considerate, patient, flexible, open to others ideas and new technologies, team-player, and have a professional attitude
  • Maintain competencies in governmental legal compliance requirements
  • Communicate effectively across an organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggling strategic HR and tactical HR functions.
  • Willingness to change/adapt to new processes, procedures, or work requirements
  • Take pride in work and personal responsibility in the work produced
  • Highly organized

Preferred Qualifications and Competencies

  • Human Resource Certification
  • Passion for a sustainable work and life environment
  • Strong technical skills, including use of software applications, translating Microsoft to Mac, Apple technologies, etc.
